Episode #5: Let's Make Cinnamon Rolls

Inspired by the in-laws, Not Martha cooks up sumptuous cinnamon rolls from scratch. The boys kick in to frost them and all enjoy the fresh baked breakfast. WARNING, the video show reduced portions of the below recipe.

Mrs. McCarthy's Cinnamon Roll Recipe:

Scold: 4 cups milk
Add: 7 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp salt
1/4 lb melted butter (1/2 cup)

Let cool

Add: 2 beaten eggs
1 pkg dry active yeast (2-1-4 tsp)
about 12 cups flour

Let rise 20 mins. Knead and then let rise until double--between 1-1/2 - 2 hrs.

Punch down, let rise again 15 mins
Roll into rectangles
Coat with melted butter
Sprinkle with 3 cups brown sugar and 3 Tbsp cinnamon
Roll up, cut, put into greased pans.

Let rise, bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 min.
Using 13x9' pans yields 4 dozen rolls.

Ice with butter cream, cream cheese, or citrus frosting as you like.

The boys used the same (1/2 recipe) frosting from Episode #3.
